On September 24, 2020 Morowa Mosai, Alexandria Searles, unveils a powerful mural on the side of local restaurant Edmund’s Oast located on Morrison Dr. The piece features names of black men and women killed at the hands of law enforcement like Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Walter Scott.
“I feel like the opportunities for black artist should equal the amount of people here.”
Searles spoke about equality in the low country area. She payed homage to the ancestors and mentioned the need for conversations about race in the area.
The mural is located at Edmund’s Oast 1081 Morrison Dr, Charleston,SC 29403.
